† pinioˈnade Obs. In 4 pynyon-, pyn(n)on-, 4–5 pynenade. [app. f. some form of Romanic pīnion (cf. pignon1, pinion n.5), f. L. pīnea pine-nut + -ade. (Prob. in OF. or AF.)] A comfit or conserve of which pine-nuts formed a characteristic ingredient.
