1960Cruickshank & Perrin in Nature 27 Aug. 800/1 We propose that the trivial name of this compound should be ‘pisatin’ after the host plant from which it was originally isolated. 1964[see phaseollin]. 1967R. K. S. Wood Physiol. Plant Path. xiv. 496 None of a variety of bacteria which have been tested stimulates formation of pisatin by pea pods. 1972S. A. J. Tarr Princ. Plant Path. xiv. 268 Some of these antifungal substances are perhaps present in low concentrations in normal tissue, their formation being intensified by infection or some other stimulus. Pisatin, for example, is formed when dilute solutions of certain metallic salts..are placed on pea pod endocarp tissue. |
