Gk. πώγων beard + -ϕόρος bearing: see -phore.] A worm-like marine invertebrate belonging to the phylum Pogonophora. So pogoˈnophoran, pogoˈnophorous adjs., of or pertaining to an animal of this kind or the phylum as a whole.
