polychroic, a. Cryst.|pɒlɪˈkrəʊɪk| [a. F. polychroïque, f. Gr. πολύχροος many-coloured (f. πολυ-, poly- + χρόα colour) + -ic.] Showing different colours when viewed in different directions; more properly called pleochroic. So ˈpolychroism = pleochroism.
