Ponzo|ˈpɒnzəʊ| [The name of Mario Ponzo (b. 1882), Italian psychologist.] Ponzo illusion: an optical illusion in which two parallel straight lines of equal length appear to be of unequal length when seen side by side against a triangular background (such as a set of straight lines radiating from a single point and passing through the two parallel lines).
