‖ prostheca Entom.|prɒsˈθiːkə| [mod.L., ad. Gr. προσθήκη an addition, appendage, f. προστιθέναι to put to, add. Cf. F. prosthèque.] A process on the mandibles in certain coleopterous insects. Hence prosˈthecal a., pertaining to the prostheca.
