sopheric, a.|səʊˈfɛrɪk| [f. Heb. sōphēr scribe (see scribe n.1 1) + -ic.] Of or pertaining to the Jewish scribes or their teaching. Also ˈsopherism, the existence or authority of scribes as a learned class.
