‖ rhonchus|ˈrɒŋkəs| Also ronchus. Pl. rhonchi |ˈrɒŋkaɪ|. [L., a. Gr. *ῥόγχος, var. ῥέγχος snoring. Cf. ῥογχασµός (Galen).] A dry sound heard by auscultation in the bronchial tubes; usually identified with râle.
