† auriˈpigment Obs. [ad. L. auripigmentum (also in Eng. use), = auri of gold + pigmentum colouring matter. Now replaced by the form orpiment through Fr.] A bright yellow mineral, the trisulphide of arsenic (As2S3), used by painters under the name of King's Yellow. Cf. arsenic 1 a.
