A pseudopodium, stiffened by an axial filament, found in some Heliozoa and Radiolaria.

Study Protozoa v. 48 Pseudopodia of the radiate type are generally supported by an axial rod, a secreted structure of firm, elastic nature, and are hence known as axopodia. 1959Chambers's Encycl.
