roepperite Min.|ˈrɜːpəraɪt| [f. the name of William T. Roepper (1810–80), German-born U.S. mineralogist + -ite1.] A black mineral of the olivine group containing iron, manganese, and zinc. The name röpperit (G.) was also proposed in 1872 by A. Kenngott (in Neues Jahrb. f. Mineral. 188) for a species of manganiferous dolomite described by Roepper.
