psephism Gr. Antiq.|ps-, ˈsiːfɪz(ə)m| Also in Gr.-Lat. form pseˈphisma, pl. -ata. [ad. Gr. ψήϕισµα, f. ψηϕίζειν to vote, prop. with pebbles, f. ψῆϕος pebble.] A decree enacted by a vote of a public assembly, esp. of the Athenians.
