Dict. 1889); ˌbathyoro-ˈgraphic, -ˈgraphical adjs., applied to representations of the contours of the surface of the earth and of the sea-bed; so ˌbathyoroˈgraphically adv.; ˌbathypeˈlagic a., pertaining to or inhabiting the intermediate depths of the sea (opp. abyssal, pelagic); ˌbathyˈthermograph, an instrument which records automatically the temperature of water at various depths; so ˌbathythermoˈgraphic a., pertaining or relating to a bathythermograph or its recordings.
