[f. Zool. L. pullastræ, pl. of L. pullastra young hen, pullet (f. pullus: see prec. and -aster) + -ine1.]
Of or pertaining to the Pullastræ, a group of gallinaceous birds, comprising the Curassows, Mound-builders, and Pigeons (Lilljeborg 1866).
As proposed by Sundevall, 1836, Pullastræ included the Curassows, Lyre-bird, Plantain-eaters, and Pigeons.
