bort|bɔːt| Also 7 bourt, 9 boart. [Possibly a. OF. bord, bort, bastard; the word is used in mod.F. (Littré, supplement) as bord and bort, but is not in Cotgr. 1611.] The fragments removed from diamonds in cutting, when too small for jewellery; also diamonds of too coarse a quality for jewellery: used to make diamond powder.
