‖ Scansores, n. pl. Ornith.|skænˈsɔəriːz| [mod.L., pl. of *scansor, agent-n. of scandĕre to climb.] The name given by Illiger (1811) to his first Order of birds, comprising the Climbers (see climber n. 3).
