[‹ breatharian n. + -ism suffix, after vegetarianism n., fruitarianism n. at fruitarian n. Derivatives, etc.] The practice or advocacy of a belief that human beings require no nutrients other than those absorbed from the air and, in some cases, sunlight. The practice is highly controversial, and would appear to have no basis in scientific fact.
