schistosomiasis Path.|ˌskɪstəʊsəʊˈmaɪəsɪs| [f. mod.L. Schistosoma (see prec.) + -iasis.] Disease caused by infection with parasites of the genus Schistosoma, characterized by chronic symptoms esp. of the digestive and urinary systems, and sometimes by fever.
