Briticism orig. U.S.|ˈbrɪtɪsɪz(ə)m| Also Britticism. [f. British (or a possible Britic) after Gallicism, Scotticism, etc.] A phrase or idiom characteristic of Great Britain, but not used in the English of the United States or other countries.
