† ˈsearchery Sc. Law. Obs. Also 6 sercheorie, searchearie, sercherie. [f. searcher n. + -y3; see -ery.] That which is characteristic of the duty or office of a searcher (sense 2). letters of searchery: documents authorizing the prosecution of a search or examination.
