Callanetics, n.|kæləˈnɛtɪks| [f. the name of Callan Pinckney (b. 1939), U.S. inventor of the system + -etics, perh. after athletics n.] A proprietary name for a system of exercises designed to improve muscle tone by the performance of small repeated movements involving deeper-lying muscles.
