A genus of long-tailed, long-limbed Asiatic monkeys. Also, a monkey of this genus: often in anglicized form ˌSemnopiˈthec |-ˈθɛk|, or -thece |-ˈθiːs|. Hence Semnopiˈthecine a., pertaining to the subfamily Semnopithecinæ, or to the genus Semnopithecus; n., a semnopithecine monkey. ˌSemnopiˈthecoid a. and n. = prec.
