separated, ppl. a.|ˈsɛpəreɪtɪd| [f. separate v. + -ed1.] 1. In senses of the verb: Set apart or asunder, disjoined, withdrawn, etc. Also absol., esp. (orig. U.S.) in sense ‘one who has withdrawn from a conjugal relationship but is not divorced’ (chiefly pl.). separated milk: milk from which the cream has been extracted by a separator.
