centistoke(s Physics.|ˈsɛntɪstəʊk, -əʊks| [f. centi- + stokes n.4] A unit of kinematic viscosity, one hundredth of a stokes.
1934Proc. World Petroleum Congress 1933 II. 508/2 As the unit of kinematic viscosity..the stokes and the derived centistokes have been adopted. 1937Jrnl. R. Aeronaut. Soc. XLI. 735 The two oils had nearly the same viscosity at 50° C., viz., 78 and 76 centistokes respectively. 1956Electronic Engin. XXVIII. 59 Except for the very low viscosity members (0·65 centistokes to about 50 centistokes) the dielectric properties vary very little with viscosity. |
