shandrydan|ˈʃændrɪdæn| Also shandrydan, shandridan, -redan, -radan, shan-dradam; shandaradan, -ery-dan, -eradan; shatterydan, shattaradan. [Of obscure origin: in some way related to prec.] A kind of chaise with a hood. In later use, a jocular designation for any rickety old-fashioned vehicle.
