‖ quare impedit Law.|ˈkwɛəriː ˈɪmpɪdɪt| [L., ‘why he impedes or hinders’.] A form of writ issued in cases of disputed presentation to a benefice, requiring the defendant to state why he hinders the plaintiff from making the presentation.
