chlordiazepoxide, n. Pharm.|ˌklɔːdaɪˌeɪzɪˈpɒksaɪd| [f. chlor-2 + diazep- after benzodiazepine n. + oxide n.] A benzodiazepine, C16H14ClN3O , given in tablet form and by injection in the treatment of anxiety and as a hypnotic. Among the proprietary names for this drug is Librium.
