chondrule Min.|ˈkɒndruːl| [f. as chondrite + -ule.] A small spherical grain of mineral embedded in varying numbers in the matrix of chondritic meteorites. Also ˈchondrulite, chondruˈlitic a. (see quot. 1928).

Chamberlin Two Solar Families 254 ‘Chondrulites’ is merely a more general term here used to include not only chondrules but their débris and all such quasi-chondrulitic material as cannot be called chondrules.
