Sitaris Ent.|ˈsɪtərɪs| [mod.L. (Latreille, 1802), f. Gr. σῑτάριον, dim. of σῖτος corn, food.] A genus of beetles belonging to the family Meloidæ, the larvæ of which are parasitic in the nests of certain bees; a member of this genus, esp. S. muralis.
