†1. A coral of plant-like form. Obs.
1774Goldsm. Nat. Hist. (1776) VIII. 193 The coral-plants, as they are called, sometimes shoot out like trees without leaves in winter; they often spread out a broad surface like a fan, and not uncommonly a large bundling head, like a faggot.
2. A name of the plant Jatropha multifida (family Euphorbiaceæ). (Miller Plant-names 1884.)
