sotalol Pharm.|ˈsəʊtəlɒl| [Etym. unkn.: see -ol.] The compound, CH3.NH(SO2).C6H4.CH(OH).CH2.NH.CH(CH3)2, a beta-adrenergic blocking agent used (in the form of its hydrochloride) in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
