▪ I. † spaul, v. Obs. rare. [In sense 1, ad. OF. espauler (mod.F. épauler); in sense 2, ad. OF. espaul(l)ier, both f. espaule, épaule shoulder.] 1. trans. In pass., of a horse: To be injured in the shoulder.
