释义 | colorn. Early Music. Any of various musical devices or techniques used to enhance the performance of a piece, esp. a repeated melody in late-medieval isorhythmic motets. Cf. talea n. ΚΠ 1944 W. Apel Harvard Dict. Music 161/1 In 13th-century theory the term color signified various special devices of composition and performance, such as the repetition of a melodic phrase, its imitation.., quotations from other sources.., or embellishments, especially the vocal vibrato. 1974 Early Music 2 220 In some the isorhythmic voices are constructed not only with a talea (the rhythmic pattern) but also a color (a melody that repeats, but not necessarily at exactly the same time as the repetitions of the rhythm). 2006 P. Griffiths Conc. Hist. Western Music iii. 34 The color thus starts again half way through the second talea, and the two coincide only at the beginning of the third repeat of the color and fourth of the talea. This is a new entry (OED Third Edition, September 2011; most recently modified version published online March 2022). > see alsoalso refers to : colourcolorn.1 also refers to : colourcolorv. < n.1944 see also |
