Etymology: < a- prefix6 + -morphism comb. form, after German Amorphismus (J. N. Fuchs 1833, in Bayerische Annalen 51 345, in the passage translated in quot. 1835). Compare earlier dimorphism n. a and isomorphism n. 1. Compare also earlier amorphy n.
