Of or relating to the cricoid and thyroid cartilages; esp. designating a muscle that originates from the cricoid and inserts on to the thyroid cartilage, and serves to increase the tension of the vocal folds and raise the pitch of the voice. Cf. thyro-cricoid adj. at thyro- comb. form 1.
