Origin: A borrowing from Romani. Etymon: Romani dikh-.
Etymology: < Romani dikh- to look, see < Prakrit dakkhai , dekkhai (which also underlies Hindi dekhnā : see deck n.2 and compare dekko n.).
Scottish and English regional (north-eastern).
