Origin: A borrowing from French. Etymon: French dogmatisation.
Etymology: < French dogmatisation (1430 in Middle French; rare before 1870, but compare use in the passage translated in quot. 1724) < dogmatiser dogmatize v. + -ation -ation suffix. Compare post-classical Latin dogmatizatio (from 14th cent. in British sources).
The action or fact of dogmatizing; an instance of this. Also: the propounding of a dogma.
