Etymology: < dread v. + locks, plural of lock n.1
With plural agreement. A Rastafarian hairstyle in which the hair is allowed to grow without combing, and forms into matted ‘locks’ which hang down from all over the head (see quot. 1966); the hair dressed in this way. Also in singular (esp. attributive).
