Origin: Formed within English, by compounding; probably modelled on a German lexical item. Etymons: ethno- comb. form, psychology n.
Etymology: < ethno- comb. form + psychology n., probably after German Völkerpsychologie (1855 or earlier). Compare German Ethnopsychologie (1809 in an apparently isolated attestation, subsequently from 1872).
The psychology of races and peoples; the branch of psychology that deals with this.
