Etymology: Either an alteration (with suffix substitution: compare -ure suffix1) of fulgour n., or < classical Latin fulgur fulgur n. Compare Middle French fulgure (apparently only in a very few attestations in the 15th cent.). Compare earlier fulgour n. and fulgur n.
