Etymology: < French grasserie (1808 or earlier) < gras fat (see grease n.) + -erie -ery suffix.
A viral disease affecting silkworms, characterized by yellowing of the integument and degeneration and liquefaction of the internal tissues.Grasserie is caused by a nuclear polyhedosis virus.
