Etymology: < Pashto Hindkī, literally ‘Indian’, used to denote the Hindki people.The Pashto word for the language (compare sense A. 2) is Hindko Hindko n.
Now historical and rare.

1. A person of Indian descent living in Afghanistan or northern Pakistan; spec. a Hindu of the Khatri caste (cf. Khatri n.).
