1879 Jrnl. Chem. Soc. 36 650 Hipparaffin is obtained by the action of lead peroxide on hippuric acid in presence of excess of sulphuric or nitric acid.

1904 Jrnl. Chem. Soc. 86 i. 994 Sodium benzenesulphonylaminomethanesulphonate..reacts violently with phosphorus pentachloride, but no substance resembling hipparaffin could be obtained.
