释义 | margaroditen. Mineralogy. Now rare. A variety of muscovite having a pearly lustre. ΚΠ 1849 H. Watts tr. L. Gmelin Hand-bk. Chem. III. 451 Margarodite forms the matrix of the black tourmaline from the Zillerthal. 1857 J. D. Dana Man. Mineral. (new ed.) 193 Margarodite, or Schistose talc of Zillerthal, is near common mica, but contains 4 or 5 per cent. of water. 1889 Q. Jrnl. Geol. Soc. 45 364 Margarodite, gilbertite, damourite, and sericite are mineralogists' names for varieties possessing the same composition as muscovite, differing from the latter mineral merely in containing at least about 5 per cent. of water. 1987 R.
