1966 G. P. Wright & W. S. Symmers Systemic Pathol. xxvii. 862/1 Meigs' syndrome of ascites, hydrothorax, and ovarian tumour is almost always due to a soft fibroma: the fluid accumulates as a result of seepage through the capsular surface of the tumour.

1989 J. A. B. Collier & J. M. Longmore Oxf. Handbk. Clin. Specialties (ed. 2) i. 44 [Fibromas] are associated with Meigs' syndrome..as are also Brenner's tumours, granulosa and theca cell tumours.
