Etymology: < classical Latin mell-, mel honey (see mell n.2) + -ic suffix. Compare post-classical Latin mellicus sweet as honey (a636 in Isidore). N.E.D. (1906) gives the pronunciation as (me·lik) /ˈmɛlɪk/.
rare. Apparently only attested in dictionaries or glossaries.
