1890 Cent. Dict. Mesotarsus, In entom., the whole tarsus of the second or middle leg of a six-footed insect, coming between the metatarsus of the hind leg and the protarsus of the fore leg.
1955 Ecology 36 282/2 These beetles were of the same size, but DS4 was missing its right mesotarsus.
1996 Jrnl. Entomol. Res. 20 27 Mesotarsi 3–5 and all metatarsi fuscous.
