Etymology: < German Morpholecithus ( Haeckel Anthropogenie (ed. 3, 1877) 175) < morpho- morpho- comb. form + ancient Greek λέκιθος the yolk of an egg (see lecithin n.). Compare tropholecithus n. at tropho- comb. form 1.

Embryology. Obsolete. rare.
