Mineralogy.
A cubic hydrated nitrogen compound of mercury (chemically, a salt of Millon's base) which occurs as yellow crystals and has the formula Hg2NX.H2O, where X represents chiefly chloride and sulphate (and sometimes also molybdate).

Sci. 30 202 We propose the name mosesite, which name, besides perpetuating the high attainments of Professor Moses in the science of mineralogy, is particularly appropriate as it links his name with a group of minerals which he first definitely put on record.
