1. Medicine.
a. Chronic inflammation of the skin and subcutaneous tissue, and often bone, esp. of the foot or lower leg, caused by infection with any of various actinomycetes and fungi, occurring chiefly in the tropics; an instance or case of this. Also called maduromycosis. Cf. Madura foot n. at Madura n. 1.
